About
Florascent
The Florascent
fragrance manufactory presents Florascent Parfumeurs, its
extraordinary collection of precious natural perfumes that
revive the tradition of the European art of perfumery of
the 17th century. This tradition centres around a commitment to use the
most exquisite natural raw materials, giving our fragrances
their distinctive individuality. Each flacon is hand-bottled, hand-sealed, and packed in stylish handmade paper tubes
which have already become a hallmark of Florascent.
Production
Techniques.
For the production of our natural fragrances we use
the purest flower essences and specially produced aromatic plant extracts - also known as `macerates`. They are the very basis our creations are built on.
This is followed by conservative distillation and extraction techniques, used to preserve
the natural and untainted, unmistakable aura of our materials. In a maturation period of
several months our scent compositions are given time to develop their distinctive and mellow character.
The Tradition
Aside from our knowledge of traditional production methods, the creation of a Natural Perfume requires
extensive experience in handling the rare and expensive raw materials. Experience
drawn from two decades lend a special character to the creations. A new perfumes journey to completion is a long one. It requires many beginnings, until it reaches our final exacting standards of perfection.
The Art
The traditional art of European perfumery dates back to the 17th century, when at
royal courts leather gloves became a fashionable accessory for various occasions.
The gloves however exuded an acrid smell because of the acids used in tanning.
In their efforts to find a solution to this problem. glove
makers began to scent
their leather ware, laying - incidentally - the foundations to the future
tradition of European perfumery. Before long a number of them had focused entirely
on producing perfumes, as their fragrant waters became increasingly popular
among ladies and gentlemen of the nobility.
